We have redeveloped Marine Waters to enhance the site’s look and feel, accessibility, and introduce new and improved content and resources.

The new Marine Waters has a broader target audience and a strong regional focus. Resources are now tailored to Western Australia’s aquatic regions – North Coast, Gascoyne Coast, West Coast, South Coast and the Indian Ocean Territories (IOTs).

We have expanded our target audience – in addition to teachers, materials have been developed to enhance student and community engagement in learning about the marine environment.

A new feature that will be a great benefit to users, particularly teachers, is that users are able to create and share resource lists specific to the classes or topics they are teaching or learning about.

A key addition is the development of a data collection interface to enable collection of real data in the field, with the ability to share this data with other groups – stay tuned to find out more!

The roll-out of the new site will be supported by professional learning workshops available to teachers, other educators and interested community groups. These workshops will be delivered by our Community Education team around the state.

Thanks to Woodside for their support of this project. We hope you enjoy exploring the new Marine Waters!
