When the rose mallee is in bloom we’re in Djeran, the season of adulthood (April-May). The temperature has started to drop, and the earth is cooling.

The breeze has changed and for the Noongar people, the blooming of the red flowers meant the fish were ready and it was time to hunt around the rivers or spear fish for mullet and tailor.
