Equipped with crabbing gear, gauges, guides and various other props including abalone shells and laminated fish, the Community Education team spoke to approximately 200 adult students across three South Metro TAFE campuses about fishing rules and safety last week (30 July – 1 August).
The team spoke to migrant English classes at Armadale, Carlisle and Thornlie with the students gaining lots of knowledge about popular recreational fisheries in WA and how we keep them sustainable.
Topics included recreational fishing rules in WA, crabbing, rock and abalone fishing safety. It was a great opportunity to reach people who may be new to WA and our amazing coastline and waterways!
